This conflict joins 17 United Nations countries as allies to stop the agression of the North Koreans and their Chinese Allies toward their South Korean counterparts. As in any armed conflict, there are always casualties, and lives will unfortunately be lost.
However, the Army is trying a new idea: The Mobile Army Surgical Hospital Unit. Located only 3-4 miles from the fighting, a dedicated and courageous (some might argue insane) group of doctors, nurses, and other Army personnel have been assigned to treat the wounded that can be transported to them by helicopter, bus, jeep, or any other way of getting them to medical care.
It is a less-than glamorous living, often fraught with the dangers of snipers, shelling from both sides, black marketeers, and the occasional incompetent Flag Officer. The men and women that make up the unit are a special breed of soldier. They are dedicated to healing, they are skilled in the art of healing, and most are quite insane (we mean that in a good way).
How about you? Are you up to the rigors of life in a M*A*S*H Unit? Or do you fit into the category of Many are called, and some are drafted? If you think you're ready, click the join graphic on the left. But be prepared, Soldier...you ain't seen nothin' yet...
